RGA refutes report gambling firms agreed advertising ban during sports broadcasts.

Clive Hawkswood, the chief executive of the Remote Gambling Association (RGA), has denied a report on the BBC that claimed that some of the largest betting companies in the UK had agreed to an advertising ban during live televised sport.

He categorically stated that no such agreement has been made.

Stella Dalton, the RGA’s regulatory affairs manager said that the Gambling Industry Code for Socially Responsible Advertising is “reviewed annually” and that “several options are currently being considered” though nothing has been finalised.

The BBC report claimed that SkyBet, Betfred, Betfair, Stan James, Gala Coral and William Hill had all given the consent for the gambling ban accord.
