Luke Alvarez, the former CEO of Inspired Entertainment, has been appointed as the new chairman BetVictor. He will begin the tenure from 1 December.

Over a career spanning 28 years, he has a proven track record in leading global technology, media and telecommunication (TMT) companies.

The arrival of Alvarez in BetVictor is expected to boost its growth, especially in its mobile sportsbook and e-gaming product suite, and technology platform. He is also expected to enhance the company’s customer protection, regulatory and compliance programmes, and provide strategic direction to further build on BetVictor’s successes.

Commenting on the appointment, Andreas Meinrad, CEO at BetVictor, said: “We are delighted to welcome Luke to our Board. It’s an important time for BetVictor as we continue to evolve and expand, and the strong skills and experience Luke brings are vital to help us taking our strategy and product development to the next level.”

“Luke has played a key role in the growth of several international technology and gaming companies and we believe that his knowledge and expertise will drive the BetVictor brand forward as we strengthen our customer protection focus and continue to grow as a business.”

Alvarez added: “It’s an exciting time to be joining BetVictor. The company has strong industry-leading, in-house technology capabilities that are paving the way in the highly competitive mobile sports and gaming space. I look forward to working with Andreas and the Board to help drive the company’s success.”

Alvarez founded the company in its previous form, Inspired Gaming Group Limited in 2002.
