Football is the most popular sports for betting in RussiaReading Time: 1 minute

A recent survey revealed that more than 50 per cent of Russian punters choose to bet on football matches. Tennis is a distant second in this category. These details were emerged in a survey conducted by Liga Stavok among 1,450 punters.

Alexander Egorov, deputy director general of the company, said: “The most popular type of sports to bet on is football, 52 per cent of punters bet on football matches. Tennis is on the second place with 14 per cent, the third place belongs to basketball with 12 per cent. Eight per cent of sports fans bet on hockey, and 6 per cent on volleyball,” said Alexander Egorov said.

Another Russian betting company Leon too found similar results in its survey. The surveys also found out that the Russian e-sports industry grows at an annual rate of 23–25 per cent.
