Dmitry Medvedev, the prime minister of Russia, has signed the order to shut down the gambling zone in Azov City in Krasnodar Territory. The gambling zone will closed on 31 December 2018, as per the order. It is the first gambling zone in Russia, started in 2009.

The Russian government plans to develop a resort on the coast of the Azov Sea, where the gambling zone is located. It must be noted that a gambling zone “Krasnaya Polyana” was created in Sochi after the Winter Olympics.

According to the law, a single region can host only one gambling zone. That is why the government decided to close the gambling zone in “Azov-City.”
