NSM drive contactless and mobile functionality post ACOS

NSM drive contactless and mobile functionality post ACOSReading Time: 2 minutes

With venues on the lookout for the ‘next big thing’ to increase footfall, NSM is following its successful showcase at ACOS by giving the operators what they want and enhancing its focus on efficiency-led tech and customer-led payment models.

ACOS provided an ideal platform for the launch of NSM’s latest machine, Thunder, and with solid orders for both its new jukeboxes at the show, it’s now all about listening to the industry on the finer details according to the company’s sales manager, Alex Kirby. He explained: “For a company which prides itself on designing its machines based on customer feedback it was incredibly encouraging that we received only positive responses to both the Thunder and Lightning machines at show. It’s testament to how much we listen that these new machines are already delivering on every technical aspect which matters to our customers so obviously our next goal is to focus on what the features on both machines can deliver.”

Giving the operators what they want is an essential part of NSM’s business and ACOS saw the company delivering on this with a number of flexible payment plan models and by putting customers testimonies at the heart of its commitment to fixed music fee. Kirby said: “With everything we do, we’re accommodating what operators and customers need. Our commitment to the fixed music fee was welcomed at the show and after researching thoroughly and liaising with customers, we’ve still found that the fixed fee model is the clear winner for 99% of our customers.”

The show also highlighted the industry’s desire to find the ‘next big thing’ in a bid to drive coin drop and at the same time create a greater footfall and increase wet-sales for licensee’s according to Kirby. He explained: “We have known from talking to customers over the last few years that affordability is key for UK operators and we’re delivering on that across our portfolio. However, footfall isn’t what it used to be and people are searching for ways to stand out and give customers what they want so accessibility plays a big part in this.”

Accessibility on the Thunder and Lightning machines is being delivered via NSM’s contactless capability and mobile app, which has doubled in size over the last nine months alone, both of which Kirby states are important components for the industry at this time. He explained: “We were way ahead of the industry with our contactless and mobile app and ACOS proved these attributes are what people want from their jukeboxes in 2018. With contactless, we’ve been invested in this technology for years, but only recently have we seen a marked growth in its use as more and more customers turn on to the technology. Contactless is going to be a big deal in the coming years and our machines have the specifications and efficiency to cope with this growing demand.”

He concluded: “The key to jukeboxes is creating the perfect environment. If you get that right then increased footfall and wet-sales follow and in our experience, the operators and venues who do get it right see higher revenue overall. It’s not magic, it’s all about the music!”

Bacta is at the forefront of initiatives to encourage responsible gambling with the leading trade association for the land-based low-stake sector joining the Betting and Gaming Council, the Lotteries Council and the Bingo Association as organisers and supporters of the 2024 edition of Safer Gambling Week (SGW) which runs 18–24 November.

With a core objective of encouraging people to talk and take action to gamble responsibly, the initiative which is running for its eighth year, will feature what the official SGW web site refers to as a “blitz” of safer gambling messages online and in land-based venues in order to spark a nationwide conversation about responsible gambling and the safeguards that have been put in place by the regulated industry.

George McGregor, Bacta’s Executive Director (Government Relations), believes the initiative continues to make a significant contribution to the industry’s endeavours to reduce further the incidence of problem gambling.

He stated: “The first point to make is that Safer Gambling Week draws attention to what Bacta members are practicing every week and every day of the year. This commitment and culture is something that every Bacta member should be extremely proud of.

“The consumer-facing Safer Gambling website poses a series of questions to consider and outlines how to use safer gambling tools such as setting time and deposit limits and how to self-exclude from gambling.”

He added: “As an awareness raising initiative Safer Gambling Week has demonstrated its value. Safer Gambling Week 2023 smashed previous social media records, generating over 50 million impressions across Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

“The website received half a million visits and the campaign engaged with a large number of cross-party MPs and peers who gave their backing as did Premier League clubs West Ham United and Brighton and Hove Albion.

“Safer Gambling Week demonstrates that Bacta, its members and the industry at large is fully committed to delivering a safe, responsible and enjoyable gambling entertainment experience for all of its customers.”

Macau Foresees Gaming Revenue Growth to $30 Billion by 2025

Macau’s 2025 casino gross gaming revenue (GGR) is forecast to reach MOP240 billion ($29.9 billion), says the Office of the Chief Executive (CE), in the financial-year 2025 budget plan published on last Thursday, and which has been submitted to the city’s Legislative Assembly.

That would be a 31.1% rise on the MOP183.06 billion achieved in 2023, the first year of trading since pandemic-related restrictions were lifted. It would be an 82.1% recovery rate compared to the MOP292.46 billion in the pre-pandemic trading year of 2019, as per data of the local regulator.

The 2024 budget plan predicted MOP216 billion GGR for this year. The tally for the calendar year to the end of October is MOP190.14 billion. The 2025 budget would represent year-on-year growth of 11.1% from the forecast for 2024.

The 2025 budget plan estimates the Macau government will collect MOP84.0 billion in gaming taxes from the city’s six casino concessionaires for financial year 2025. That is calculated based only from the levy of the so-called “special gaming tax”, which stands at 35% of GGR for the current 10-year gaming concessions that started from January 1, 2023.

With other contributing levies for social causes, the effective tax on Macau casino GGR is 40% for the current concession term.

“It is estimated that the recovery momentum of the integrated tourism and leisure businesses for the next fiscal year [2025] will continue, with a continuous rise in inbound tourist volume, albeit their travel and consumption patterns may see changes,” the Office of the Chief Executive stated in its fiscal year 2025 budget plan.

“Integrated tourism and leisure businesses” is a term used by the authorities to indicate the casino resort sector.

The chief executive office added: “Considering all factors, the fiscal year 2025 gross gaming revenue is estimated to reach MOP240 billion. Such is the principal fiscal income that serves as a foundation for the Macau Special Administrative Government in formulating the fiscal year 2025 budget plan.”

Post the Covid-19 pandemic, Macau’s fiscal income had seen a “gradual recovery” since 2023, as economic improvement had been led by the integrated tourism and leisure sector, the document also mentioned.

For the whole of fiscal year 2024, the Macau government had forecast it would collect MOP75.6 billion in gaming taxes from the casino concessionaires, levied as special gaming tax, according to the 2024 budget plan.

The 2025 plan will be current Chief Executive Ho Iat Seng’s ultimate fiscal-year budget proposal before stepping down at the end of his five-year term.

Sam Hou Fai, most recently president of Macau’s Court of Final Appeal, the city’s most senior judicial position, is to succeed Mr Ho as the city’s leader, with a swearing-in ceremony to be held in December.

Nolimit City takes you on an outing to the Carnival in Munchies

Published

Nolimit City is serving up a twisted carnival treat in Munchies. Step into the fair grounds as Nolimit’s latest Labs game released following the release of Outsourced: Slash Game. As a Labs title, expect a fresh and experimental spin on the classic Nolimit style. In the heart of the carnival tents lies a curious attraction: Fluffers—a cute, cuddly, but oh-so-smelly creature that’s causing quite the commotion among visitors. Some may say it’s the attraction of the year!

In Munchies, you get up close and personal to Fluffers, who hides a screen in it’s belly. The reel displays one symbol per spin, which can either be a multiplier or a blank. With xBet choose between playing with 2 or 4 reels and introducing Linked Wins to the mix. In the case of a multiplier higher than the subsequent reel, its value will be transferred to the subsequent reel. When a Bonus Symbol lands with multiple active reels, they also transform to the subsequent reel rewarding up to 40 Free Spins! God Mode is also an attraction at the carnival.

Fluffers goes from adorable to ravenous in It’s Alive Spins!! However, things get even more ferocious in Devour Spins. When landing a Bonus Symbol in It’s Alive Spins awards and extra 5 Free Spins per Bonus Symbol. The difference in Devour Spins is that the highest multiplier value which lands, gets locked above the reel area and is rewarded to a player with each spin. Whenever a higher multiplier lands on the lower reels, they will replace those locked Multipliers above.

Munchies is a one of a kind slot with a new mechanic that will make you scratch your head in excitement with Linked Wins and a maximum payout of 10,000x the base bet with 1 Reel, 20,000x the base bet with 2 Reels and 40,000x with 4 Reels. Munchies, unlike Nolimit City’s high-volatility slots, is rated as ‘High Volatility’ so be careful because Fluffers doesn’t discriminate when it comes to it’s food!

Per Lindheimer, Head of Product at Nolimit City, said: “Fluffers is a deceptively cute little monster with one thing on his mind: MUNCH! Munchies is unlike anything we’ve dished out before—equal parts quirky and daring. The Linked Wins mechanic allows players to play the way they want, especially on 4 reels, where things get downright crazy. Just don’t get too attached to Fluffers… he’s got a big appetite!“
