Hologate is bringing the popular anti-war story “Das Boot” into its German VR platform as a multiplayer virtual reality experience.
Aesir Interactive is also a partner in this initiative. The game is scheduled to be launched later this year along with the premier of Das Boot TV series directed by Andreas Poschaska and co-produced by Bavaria Fiction, Sky Deutschland and Sonar Entertainment.
The activity will be as follows: Four players need to work together to command a class VII type German WWII U-boat in order to survive an encounter with a British destroyer. Das Boot will be the first third-party produced title that will be made available for the Hologate platform as an addition to its expanding game library. A company spokesperson said: “Hologate´s growing international network of 125 live installations is the biggest network of multiplayer virtual reality arcade systems worldwide.
“We are extremely proud of this co-production and partnership and are looking forward to more titles being produced in this alliance.”
