GiG cleaned up at iGaming Idol 2018
Reading Time: 3 minutes
Gaming Innovation Group (GiG) smashed it at this year’s iGaming Idol Awards hosted in Malta at the Intercontinental Hotel, St.Julian’s – with employees winning four awards and GiG also receiving the prestigious Employer Branding of the Year title. In total, GiG finalists featured in nine out of 20 categories, demonstrating that the talented people who are part of GiG shine brightly within the industry.
From start to finish, GiG repeatedly broke records in this year’s iGaming Idol Awards process. From the get go, GiG’s people received the highest number of nominations out of all participating companies and with over 20 of their GiGsters reaching the second round of judging and nine becoming finalists, it was bound to be a night of epic celebratory proportions for GiG.
Mikael Angman, GiG’s COO, said before the event: “We’ve already broken iGaming Idol records, and have set the benchmark to beat for companies next year. Our senior leadership team couldn’t be prouder of every single nominee. And tonight we have nine very deserving finalists representing everyone at GiG’s hard work, commitment and teamwork. So whether we go on to win or to place, we’re already winners!”
The first winner for them of the night was for SEO Idol of the Year, and their Copenhagen based Milorad Matejic, followed by Malta based Anthony Cabrera for VIP Idol of the Year. Next up was Marbella based finalist, Maria Mora, for Design & User Experience Idol of the Year. One of the most entertaining acceptance speeches by far, came from GiG’s Roger Admeus, all the way from Marbella, winning Sales Idol of the Year – who had the audience in the palm of his hands with his charming yet cheeky salesman’s banter.
Fast forwarding through other categories and deserving winners, the Employer Branding of the Year category was announced, and GiG scooped this award too! Having recently undergone a ground up approach to a company rebranding, hot on the heels of a strong 2017 as a business, GiG have created a harmonised and visually stunning branding that instills confidence and consistency in their brand. As with any award, there is usually a team of people behind the winner, and this award is no different.
Achieving recognition of GiG’s employer brand would not have been possible without a plethora of teams working around the clock, and with the greatest of commitment to aligning messages, consistency and hiring the best talent to make it happen.
The first thing you notice about GiG’s Employer Brand is the stunning graphics and visuals which the Creative team owns, and is used across their social media platforms and internal / external channels and for their products. Then you have HR, Talent & Acquisition, Events, PR, Internal Communications, B2B/B2C Communications, GiG Gives and Knowledge teams creating the foundation for content and ideas, the topics to talk about, the events and campaigns to engage GiGsters and prospective colleagues in the GiG brand.
Sometimes people can forget the teams that work quietly behind the scenes, with more practical roles which create the bedrock of GiGster life, which without them their days would grind to a halt – and that’s the Kitchen teams, Corporate IT, Office Admin, Facilities and the Barista or coffee machines in each office. These teams ensure the smooth running of the offices, keeping everyone’s energy and spirits up with nutritional and tasty foods, simplifying processes and ensuring quick solutions.
Robin Reed, GiG’s CEO, congratulated his teams by saying: “Every finalist was deserving of an award for their hard work and contributions to their companies. I couldn’t be prouder of our four individual winners, or of the Employer Branding award – which has a huge collective of people working on every aspect of it behind the scenes. Congratulations to all of you!”
