Planetwin365 closed the gap on Italy’s long-time online betting leader Bet365 in July, according to estimates exclusively provided to iGaming Business by leading gaming sector advisory firm Ficom Leisure.
Bet365, which doesn’t have a major retail presence like Planetwin365, however also increased its share to 20.6% of the market during the period.
Total gross gaming revenues from the dot.it market reached €95.8m in July, up 6% on the prior month.
In online casino, PokerStars held on to the lead it established last month, just over two years after it started offering the product in the market, but failed to pull away from closest rivals Lottomatica and Sisal.
