EEG: Tell us a bit about yourselves? Chris & Ioannis, how did you guys meet and what lead you to develop Tipleaders.com?
Ioannis was a project manager in the same company that I was a software engineer. At one time we were both working for the same project. We also loved betting. This is how we got to know each other. We both loved the idea of Social Networking and how information gets spread through communities. And this lead us to the Tipleaders. A web community were people exchange betting tips. We, also strongly believe in the idea of vertical communities. Communities that all members have the same interest.
EEG: What it’s Tipleaders about? We see a lot of activity there.
Tipleaders is a Social Network where tipsters share their betting advice. Succesful tips give points to the tipsters. Tipsters are ranked in levels according to their win average and ROI. Tipsters use virtual coins to bet on the games. Additionally, there is a complex algorithm that ranks the betting tips according to the tipster’s success in that category. The best tipster at the end of the year gets the “Tipster of the Year” award which is $2000! There are a lot of competitions in our website for tipsters to join for free and win extra points.
EEG: What about the Tipleaders Affiliate program? How does it work? Is it gaining success?
Yes it is a success. There is still space for improvement. The best things are on the roadmap.
EEG: What are the future plans for this program? Where can it be reached and what is the revenue share basis you promote?
Currently, our affiliation program works in a very simple way. Every tipster who wins cash awards, 20% extra cash goes to the affiliated tipster. So if someone wins the award of the $2000 then $400 goes to the affiliated tipster. Can’t be more straightforward. Our future plans involve better graphical widgets (stats, graphs, user insights, etc) for our affiliates.
EEG: Which are the key elements that differentiate you from the competition?
Simplicity is our mantra. You get the affiliation link by registering for free, you use it and as long your redirected registered tipsters win, you win too, from day 1.
EEG: Do you allow sponsoring of your competitions?
Definitely! Anyone who would like to promote their website can sponsor one or more of our tipster competitions. Sponsored websites receive free banners, promotion to thousands of tipsters for free through our weekly newsletter, Facebook and twitter page and other goodies.
EEG: If you would just open your Youtube search bar, what would you search for? Chris? Ioannis?
Chris: Apart from football matches, best goals and football highlights, I always look for music videos, film previews, and programming tutorials (of course). I also watch a lot of American comedy shows.
Ioannis: I love tennis and music, so I only watch old tennis matches, interviews of tennis super stars, etc. I also watch a lot of music videos. I do believe that youtube is going to be the star of the next generation of streaming music.
EEG: Who is your favourite celebrity and where you would love to travel? Chris? Ioannis?
Chris: Currently my favourite celebrity is the English comedian Stephen Fry. Not only he is an accomplished actor. He is an activist and a thought-provoking speaker, too. Regarding travelling, I love going to the mountain. I prefer it from the sea. I love visiting secluded small villages in the mountains.
Ioannis: My favourite celebrity is the tennis champion Roger Federer. He is one of the best tennis players, ever and at the same time he can keep a simple and orderly life without going to the extreme in order to push his career. Concerning travelling, I love the sea. So I love going to places where the sea is crystal clear and blue.
EEG: Where you wouldn’t want to travel? Chris? Ioannis?
Chris: There isn’t a place where I don’t want to travel. Really, I love travelling and there is at least something that I would like to see in every country. However I can’t stand the combination of heat & humidity, so places that are surrounded by jungle are at the bottom of my list.
Ioannis: I love the sea, so I wouldn’t want to travel to any place that is far from the sea.
