Ministry Official to Discuss Remote Gaming Regulation at Gaming in Holland Conference

The head of the task force overseeing the modernization of gambling policy at the Dutch Ministry of Security and Justice has confirmed his attendance at the upcoming Gaming in Holland Conference & Expo in order to give a preliminary briefing on the secondary legislation that will accompany the country’s long-waited remote gaming bill.

The Dutch remote gaming bill, which passed the Lower House last June, is widely expected to be adopted by the Senate later this year. Detailed regulations to accompany the bill once it has been enacted, are currently being drafted behind closed doors at the Ministry of Security and Justice.

Dennis van Breemen, Program Manager at the Ministry of Security and Justice, has agreed to brief attendees of the Gaming in Holland Conference & Expo on the current state of the regulatory proposals, ahead of the industry consultation that is scheduled to start in the weeks or months following the conference.

At this briefing, Mr Van Breemen will be supported by a number of policy officers to help answer questions from the audience.

The following is a preliminary list of topics that will addressed by Mr van Breemen:

– Responsible gaming
– Technical standards
– Sports integrity
– Customer ID and age verification standards
– Advertising guidelines
– Payments
– Allowed product verticals, including newcomers like DFS and eSports betting
– Oversight
