Germany to review gambling regulations regarding Licenses

It looks like 2016 can also bring excellent news! And finally, after a long period of time (since the State Treaty on Gambling that was regulated in 2012) Germany opens the gate to all the investors out there that want to join the German industry and market: the old “20 sports betting licenses limit” is being renewed, and the future Licenses will be offered based on the minimum quality standards.

Germany has released only 20 sportsbook licenses in the past, but now the German Prime Minister has spoke to the public about the agreement reached between the 16 German Länder.

Licenses will now be awarded based on “minimum quality standards.” It looks like big sports gambling companies have formed the German Online Casino Association, which issued this statement to the government, after a deep-analysis of the problem, offering a wide-range of possible solutions and short-term advantages in the close future.

What we can expect in the near future, as state officials have mentioned, are a series of measures to be taken, in order for this transition between regulations to take place. Such changes might take some time, but some companies are already setting up new business strategies to enter the market. This should give us a more accurate indication over the fact, that things will certainly go towards the specified direction.
