Seven foreigners and five locals were recently detained in gambling raid held by the officers of the Belait Police District who raided a site in Kampong Sungai Teraban, Kuala Belait (Brunei).
The detained ones: seven females and five males, comprising one local, seven foreigners and four residents were caught gambling at the site.
The officers managed to confiscate three gambling machines, an unspecified amount of cash and other various gambling materials. The confiscated goods along with the individuals were sent off to the local police districts’ headquarters for further inspection.
The case is being investigated under Section 6 (1) & (2) and Section 8 (1) of the Open House Gambling Act, Chapter 28.
Brunei’s Royal Police Force urged residents, locals and tourists to refrain from gambling activities and to report any gambling activities at the nearest police station or call the police hotline.
