Former Carnaby Chief Introduces Film Rights Gambling Company, Skyrocket Entertainment, in Cannes

For Skyrocket Entertainment, a tech-entertainment company, Sean O’Kelly has joined with online gambling business veteran Richard Clarke.

The recently departed CEO of Brit sales and distribution banner Carnaby, O’Kelly, has teamed with online gambling business veteran Richard Clarke to arrange online gambling in Skyrocket Entertainment.

Cannes is the city where the new company was unveiled, and the company is picking film rights for use on online gambling games such as slot machines, a $46.7 billion industry.

 “We’re acquiring iconic films old and new, migrating them into the online games and gambling business,” said O’Kelly, and also added there was a “massive desire” for film-branded games.

According to Clarke, right owners will get very significant and long term revenues from an average online slot game.

O’Kelly added: “It’s is significant revenue stream on a par with VOD and TV revenues.”

Although nothing is ready to be announced, deals with producers and library owners are being signed in Cannes, said O’Kelly, with Skyrocket planning to make up 100 games per year with its partners.
