On Monday, the Hungarian National Assembly created a detailed legal set of rules for online casino gaming.

Erik Banki and later joining initiator Imre Iron, have managed to push the modification of the online gambling law to the Parliament were during the committee hearing transcripts of the modified gambling law the amending proposal was adopted by 126 votes against 65.

The legislation sets out the following terms:  online sports betting can only be organized by the state-owned Szerencsejatekok Zrt. – except for horse race betting. The online betting on horse races can only be organized in wholly by state-owned Hungarian Horse Race Betting Organiser Ltd.

Distinct from online sportsbetting, the online casino games can only be organized by concession holder casinos operating in Hungary, which is can carry out the execution of online casino games by the concession company established by the gaming organization.

Initially, Erik Banki proposed that the national tax authority should allow up to two online casino and grant approval for their operation. By adopting the modified proposal and summarizing it, the proposal has now been changed to 11 concession holders, granting all casino concessions holders in Hungary to be entitled and be granted approval for the organization of online casino games.

Online casino licenses may be issued on a traditional casino license duration, meaning all granted licenses will be valid for 10 years.

The summary of the proposed amendments also made it clear that – the justifications of the amendments is that – the organization of online casino games is the partial right of the traditional casino gaming establishments.

The online casino games can exclusively accept associated IP addresses made available to players in Hungary. The game organizer must provide the IP address for the legal and compliance monitoring. The server of the organization should be located in an EEA State. The organizer has to offer the possibility of remote access to the server by the state tax authority and is obliged to ensure it continuously.

The amendment also includes that state tax authorities keeps a record of the online players and this record is only allowed to be viewed by the gaming operators.

In context with the modifications, it has also been confirmed that the game organizer is obliged to provide the player the possibility of use of a self-limiting measure, such as the determination of the maximum wager amount, the maximus loss amount and of course self-closing.

The amendments will come into force on the 1st of October 2015

Two major announcements from BEGE Expo and EEGS: Mark your calendars

The Balkan Entertainment & Gaming Expo (BEGE Expo) and the Eastern European Gaming Summit (EEGS) celebrate their 10th anniversary this year. Due to the big interest for both events the organizers made two major announcements – BEGE will outspread in one more hall and EEGS will start one day earlier than the announced date.

Habanero signs an outstanding deal with BBIN

A new partnership agreement will see content from quality slots and table games developer Habanero go live with the BBIN Group.

Under the agreement, the supplier will give the software company access to its complete product portfolio of HTML5 games for all of its white label sites.

Recent releases from Habanero, including Fire Rooster, Bird of Thunder, and Panda Panda, have also been made available to the aggregator.

Daniel Long, Head of Sales at Habanero, said the deal was a game-changer for the supplier and one of the company’s most important to date.

He added: “By partnering with BBIN, we have significantly expanded our presence around the world, which means even more players will be able to enjoy our games.
