We have contacted the Romanian National Office for Gambling to get a deeper overview of the new license holders and we have received the official answer from Ms. Cristinela Odeta Nestor regarding the new online gambling licenses which have been issued for StanleyBet, NetBet and WinMasters.
In the reply of Ms. Odeta we have received an interesting part, the one that states that NetBet and WinMaster, operators belonging to Cosmo Gaming Company LTD and WM Interactive Limited, have both agreed to pay the 20% back-tack as penalties for already operating in the last few years on the Romanian market without a valid license.
Although we are not in the possession of the sum, it seems that this back-tax which enables the ONJN to punish the operators that have been operating without a valid license has been taken seriously and is the key element of the licensing of the new operators.
Ms. Odeta also informed us that the blacklist of the operators and the list of the licensed operators will be update permanently to ensure a transparent activity of the regulator and there are talks with big brands of the industry who wish to remain anonymous at this moment.
The question we are going to address the already licensed operators is: What is the role of the Romanian affiliates in the exposure in the Romanian online gambling market?
We do have to mention that only one of the 3 operators offers the possibility of a dedicated affiliate program from which affiliates can earn revenues and refer new players.
The Romanian affiliate market is huge and the affiliates that already operate in this industry have already developed large databases of players and can redirect a high volume of traffic towards these brands.
