East European Gaming Report: Russian Gaming Week 2015

This week, our East European Gaming Report shall focus on Russia. We’ve managed to interview the Russian Gaming Week Coordinator, Diana Kenchadze and we thank her for this opportunity and more interviews such as this one, will be added in the future.

You will find the Q&A bellow:

EEG: Since our portal is based on business in Eastern Europe, what should affiliates be looking for at the Russian Gaming Week?

Diana Kenchadze: Our foreign guests use RGW platform, as an opportunity to communicate with their customers and partners from Russia and CIS countries, as well as a chance to establish new business contacts. The conference annually held within exhibition is a place where its attendees can learn about new legislation amendments and modes of operation with Russian gambling market.

EEG: In your opinion, what is the key element that drives such large attendance to RGW? We understand that the 2014 event saw about 2,000 people for its two full days.

Diana Kenchadze: Expo-forum Russian Gaming Week is the only target platform in the CIS that combines offline and online markets. Exhibition attendees are representatives of gambling business of Belarus, Moldova, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Israel and other countries.

EEG:What are the new features this year and could you just shoot us a quick history of the Russian Gaming Week?

Diana Kenchadze: Expo-forum Russian Gaming Week is in the market for over 10 years, during this time it has changed its team, was rebranded and adjusted to significant legislative changes and become a monopolist not only in Russia, but also in Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan.

In 2009, after gambling business in Russia was moved to gambling zones, betting and lotteries became the main focus of the exhibition, and in summer of 2014 non-governmental lotteries withdrew from the market in Russia. With emergence of new gaming zones and the construction of casinos, a platform such as Russian Gaming Week is an essential aspect for the development of gambling business in the country.

EEG: Here’s a funny one, but we had to ask. Will Putin be there? 🙂

Diana Kenchadze: Unfortunately not, he is too busy.

EEG: And as a closing question, which isn’t really a question, more like an opportunity to spread the word, fire away…advertise the event.

Diana Kenchadze: This year RGW Moscow, as usually, will bring together its exhibitors and attendees in early summer (June 3-4). This will be the show that will take more than 4 thousand square meters, and it will feature the main gambling segments of gambling market: bookmakers, online casinos, manufacturers of gaming equipment and its spare parts, manufacturers of furniture, accessories for casinos and more.

Those who want to know to get to know operating principles of gambling business can visit forum to be held within the exhibition. Business program of the forum is made so as to best accomplish the goals and objectives of participants and respond to the most pressing issues related to gaming industry.
