Yggdrasil Gaming partners with Jackpotjoy Group to enter Danish market

Published

on

Yggdrasil Gaming has made its first move into the Danish market with an agreement to provide its games and award-winning promotional tools to Jackpotjoy Group brands Vera&John and InterCasino.

The deal will see Vera&John and InterCasino offer its customers in Denmark the full portfolio of Yggdrasil titles, including the latest blockbuster release Jungle Books.

The brands will also receive Yggdrasil’s collection of in-game promotional tools, BOOST™, including Cash Race and Missions, as well as the social sharing tool BRAG™.

With many existing Yggdrasil customers already regulated in Denmark, the supplier has received strong interest from operators looking to use the content to drive top line growth and grab additional market share.

Fredrik Elmqvist, CEO at Yggdrasil Gaming, stated: “We are committed to growing our footprint in Europe’s regulated markets, so it was a logical next step for us to enter Denmark with Vera&John and InterCasino. The market is close to key Nordic territories so we expect our product to be quickly welcomed by players. Denmark was one of the first European jurisdictions to introduce a sensible and workable regulatory framework. Our flexible platform and structured operation mean we welcome regulatory developments in Denmark and beyond, and are in a strong position to adapt to requirements.

“Yggdrasil slots are enjoyed by players across Europe’s regulated markets, so it is a major coup to be the first to agree to bring these titles to Denmark. We always strive to offer the very best collection of games available to our players and adding the Yggdrasil portfolio really underlines that commitment.” – commented Victor Olinger, Head of Gaming at Jackpotjoy Group.

George Miller (Gyorgy Molnar) started his career in content marketing and has started working as an Editor/Content Manager for our company in 2016. George has acquired many experiences when it comes to interviews and newsworthy content becoming Head of Content in 2017. He is responsible for the news being shared on multiple websites that are part of the European Gaming Media Network.

Danish Gambling Authority releases updates to bingo certification program

Published

on

Due to the liberalization of online bingo from 1 January 2018, the Danish Gambling Authority (DGA) is currently working on an update to its certification program.

An updated version will be published later this week. The DGA knows that a number of interested parties are awaiting the updated requirements, so these will be specified here.

The requirements in the certification program will reflect the requirements in the executive order. Here are the most significant:

  • Only online bingo with 75, 80 or 90 numbers/symbols is allowed.
  • Bingo cards for games with 75 numbers/symbols must have five times five squares.
  • Bingo cards for games with 80 numbers/symbols must have four times four squares.
  • Bingo cards for games with 90 numbers/symbols must have three times nine squares.
  • The sale of bingo cards cannot start until 30 minutes before the game starts.
  • There must be at least three seconds between the draw/presentation of each number/symbol
  • The player cannot select numbers/symbols for the bingo card themselves or make changes to their bingo cards. The players are however allowed to select bingo cards between a number of bingo cards randomly generated by the gambling system.
  • Both manual and automatic marking of drawn numbers/symbols must be possible.
  • The game must end when the first player has a full bingo card.

The specification above is with reservation for the content in the final executive order, which will come into force on 1 January 2018.

The DGA is aware of and appreciate the fact that it will be very difficult to have games tested and inspected before the end of the year. The DGA must, however, point out that whether or not a bingo game is tested, it must comply with requirements in the coming executive order.
