Euro Attractions Show 2017 opened in Berlin
The Euro Attractions Show 2017 opened in the Messe Berlin Exhibition Center, Germany, this morning and will run until Thursday, September 28.
More than 11,000 amusement industry professionals from 119 countries are expected to attend the show during its three-day run.
“It’s fantastic to be back. EAS is one of the only places where the entire industry comes together. Even though we are all competitors it’s always great to see everyone. I’m not sure many industries can say that.” – said Greg Hale, chairman of IAAPA’s board of directors, during the opening ceremony.
He said that we are starting to see a number of different technologies being incorporated together for the first time, virtual reality being a prime example of this, and that this combination of formats is the trend to look out for at this year’s show and in the future.
Berlin, he explained, was chosen as the host for this year’s show because it is “central, easy to get to and has a wide range of amusement parks.”
“Taking EAS to Berlin for the second time will provide value to all attendees regardless of their background in the leisure and attractions industry. Some of the best in the leisure industry are located in Germany and the strong reputation of the Berlin-Brandenburg region in hospitality and business makes it an ideal location for EAS,”- added Karen Staley, senior vice president of IAAPA Europe, Middle East and Africa.
First vice president, Andreas Anderson, added: “IAAPA has been supporting EAS since 2001. Today we represent over 1,400 European members. We want to give policymakers a clear idea about what matters in our industry.”
He said that he is excited about the industry’s future, particularly because digital technology is having a “transformative impact on the way we market our products and interact with our guests.”
The show will include more than 20 educational seminars designed to promote progressive thinking and act as a networking platform.

Glück Games confirms the appointment of Rafael Razim as its new CTO
Glück Games, the Gibraltar and Berlin-based ‘casual-real money games’ developer, aggregator and technology provider, has announced the appointment of Rafael Razim its new, full-time Chief Technology Officer.
Razim has significant experience in the iGaming sector and is recognised as one of Berlin’s top CTOs. He previously co-founded Berlin-based GimiGames, a VC-backed multiplayer skill-gaming platform, and a real-money poker-company in Malta. He joins Glück Games as “late co-founder” and part of the management team.
The appointment comes after 18-months of strong successes for the young, rapidly-growing iGaming developer based in Berlin and Gibraltar. Glück Games specialises in producing real money gaming content for the broad, lottery-playing demographic. Its games are now hitting an annualised sales run rate of circa €45million within twelve months of going live with operators including Lottoland and Lottohelden .
“Our Berlin development team has expanded from just four people at the start to over twenty now. From a standing start, that team produced over 40 new games and our own, unique, Remote Gaming & Commerce Server (RGCS) in 2016”, said CEO, Robert Lenzhofer.
“Throughout 2017 we are producing a further 100 games, our own game development kit and further enhancing our RGCS both in terms of new features and ever-improved levels of reliability. That level of ambition required a heavyweight CTO and, in Rafael, we now have that.”
Razim also commented:
“I have been seeking my next challenge for some time now but it didn’t take very long, after talking to Robert and meeting the team, to decide that I had found that, here, with Glück. What they have achieved in such a short space of time and with so little resources is very impressive. The technology products and platform enhancements that we have planned will surely propel us to an even higher level and I am very excited to be part of the journey that lies ahead of us.”
About Glück Games
Glück Games makes casual, real-money games and technology products. They are based in Gibraltar and Berlin and pride themselves on applying the highest quality design and engineering principles to deliver unparalleled games and back-end products to the online lottery and casino markets.
