Slot Developers - the Best of 2020

The best slot developers for 2020 include some companies that have been at the top since the 90’s, while others appeared in the last decade. The most legitimate online casinos work with one or several of them to offer hundreds of fun games to their players.

It’s 2020, and the following developers are in prime form, providing slot aficionados with endless hours of great iGaming entertainment.

Microgaming

The company that claims to have developed the world’s first online casino software, is just as relevant today as it was 26 years ago when it was founded. Microgaming is an award-winning iGaming brand that has a ton of history behind it, and one that doesn’t rest on its laurels.

Quite the contrary, it still churns out products that feature outstanding graphics and big jackpot wins. This company, based in the Isle of Man, is also keeping pace with technological advancement, having introduced VR into their games with a focus on VR roulette.

Betsoft

Known for its 3D slot games, Betsoft is an industry leader when it comes to mobile gaming. It incorporates Shift technology into their products, a framework that uses HTML5 and provides great security. This makes all their games equally compatible with desktops and smartphones.

The company has won numerous accolades over the years, such as Best Producer of Gaming Solutions, and the Casino Content Supplier Award from EGR. Their portfolio is vast, with over 150 games, and their reputation – impeccable.

NetEnt

The juggernaut of the iGaming world. NetEnt is a global company with offices around the world and headquarters in Stockholm. It has over 700 employees and looms over its competition by producing games that are unmatched in all areas.

There’s perhaps no better-known developer than NetEnt due to massive hits like Starburst, Dead or Alive, Gonzo’s Quest, and Arabian Nights. If you have ever thrown a glance at any reputable online casino, you’ve seen some of these titles often tied into bonuses and welcome packages.

Playtech

Another industry leader, and a rare developer that can go toe-to-toe with NetEnt. Founded in 1999, Playtech is the world’s largest online gaming software supplier traded on the London Stock Exchange, and one that’s rich in history.

While Playtech may have had its ups and downs throughout the years, you’d be hard-pressed to find a more powerful and diverse developer. Their library of games includes everything from mythology-themed slots to cartoony offerings. They’re also a rare example of a developer that has purchased licenses to major Hollywood blockbusters, as well as the likeness of prominent football stars for its games.

Realtime Gaming

One of the pioneers in the online casino sphere, having established operations in 1998, Realtime Gaming has maintained its position on the market and is still one of the biggest brands out there.

They’re known for tailoring games for American players and ones that are designed in a way that the casinos can offer larger and more frequent bonuses. They have a wide catalog of slots, including many that offer progressive jackpots and they also create traditional games, like blackjack, keno, and other popular table games.

Rival Gaming

Established in 2006, Rival is one of Realtime Gaming’s main competitors when it comes to cornering the market on customers from the US. It does this by offering slots that provide progressive jackpots, whose winnings while smaller than competitors, can still run into the millions.

This is the company that’s responsible for classics like Blazin’ Buffalo and Cleopatra’s Coins. It has also developed many table and video poker games, and has innovated the iSlot concept. Games that feature episodic storylines that unfold as you play. It’s the slot equivalent to a role-playing game. Recognizable titles from this genre are – Reel Crime and A Switch in Time.
