PokerStars says a Danish player has won a $1 million Spin & Go jackpot after entering a $5 buy-in tournament on the operator’s .COM platform.
According to the company, the player—using the screen name ‘dillerfar19’—defeated ‘malakaio300’ and ‘KuCoH’ in the three-player, hyper-turbo Sit & Go format. PokerStars said runner-up ‘malakaio300’ from Brazil received $120,000 and third-place finisher ‘KuCoH’ from Belarus received $80,000.
“This is the kind of moment every Spin & Go player dreams about,” said Ashley Chase, .COM Poker Director at PokerStars. “Turning a $5 buy-in into $1 million is truly extraordinary. Congratulations to ‘dillerfar19’ on an incredible victory and to all three finalists on what was an unforgettable game.”
PokerStars noted that $5 Spin & Go tournaments more commonly award prizes of $10, $15 or $25, with prize pools drawn randomly. The operator said Spin & Go is available in Hold-em and Omaha, with buy-ins starting at $0.50 and a top prize of $1 million.
PokerStars directed players seeking more details to the PokerStars Blog and pointed to its responsible gaming information page.
