Allwyn Announces Partnership with Future Frames Including New Hollywood Scholarship for Talented Directors at Karlovy Vary International Film Festival
Allwyn AG, a leading multi-national lottery operator, announced a three-year partnership with the Future Frames programme, part of the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival (Karlovy Vary IFF), that will afford an emerging European director the chance to work with the best in Hollywood.
Allwyn, in collaboration with Future Frames, announced it will sponsor a new month-long scholarship to Los Angeles for one director each year to learn from the best in the film industry, with a dedicated programme of mentoring, shadowing and training.
Since 2015, the Future Frames programme has enabled European directors to launch their careers in the film industry. Each year, ten promising directors are invited to the Karlovy Vary IFF to showcase their films, receive tailored mentorship and training, and build relationships with people established in the industry. Now, Allwyn’s partnership expands the opportunity globally.
Also as part of the partnership, Allwyn is introducing an awards ceremony during the festival that will celebrate the work of all ten selected directors.
Established in 1946, the Karlovy Vary IFF is one of the oldest European film festivals. It takes place this year from 30th June to 8th July 2023.
Pavel Turek, Allwyn’s Chief Officer of Global Brand, Corporate Communication, and CSR, said: “Through this partnership, Allwyn is continuing to grow its community of winners around the globe. We’re passionate about changing lives for the better and this extends beyond those who buy a lottery ticket. It means supporting those who strive to achieve greatness in society, including in the arts. Initiatives like Future Frames ensure that opportunity is spread across generations, and, as we build the lotteries of the future, we are equally committed to ensure future generations also benefit from the good we provide to society.”
Kryštof Mucha, Executive Director of the Karlovy Vary IFF, said: “Thanks to our new partner, Allwyn, and our close collaboration with talent agency UTA and management company Range Media Partners, we can provide promising European directors with a vital opportunity to kick-start their careers and further their creative development, as well as the chance to gain experience from renowned figures in the world of film. The Karlovy Vary Film Festival continues its long-term strategy of discovering and supporting the filmmakers of the future.”

Kambi Group plc and BetCity strengthen partnership with multi-year extension
Kambi Group plc (“Kambi”), the home of premium sports betting solutions, has agreed a multi-year extension to its successful sportsbook partnership with BetCity, a leading online sports betting and gaming operator in the Netherlands. In 2022, BetCity was acquired by Entain, one of the world’s largest sports betting and gaming groups.
The extended agreement will see Kambi continue to provide BetCity with its online Turnkey Sportsbook, the world’s leading end-to-end sportsbook solution. BetCity also leverages native app technology from Shape Games, Kambi Group’s Front End division, to provide an enhanced user experience.
Kambi first partnered with BetCity in 2021, successfully launching on day one of the Netherlands’ regulated online gambling market opening in October of that year. Following the launch, BetCity quickly established itself as one of the Netherlands’ leading brands.
Werner Becher, Kambi CEO, said: “We are delighted to extend our partnership with BetCity, a brand that has demonstrated exceptional ambition since its inception. This agreement reflects the strong relationship we have built over the past few years and underscores Kambi’s commitment to empowering partners with the premium technology and services needed to succeed in regulated markets. We look forward to continuing this journey with BetCity and supporting their next phase of growth as part of Entain’s stable of brands.”
Vic Walia, CEO of BetCity, added: “Since partnering with Kambi, BetCity has gone from strength to strength, achieving a prominent position in a highly competitive market. Kambi’s advanced Turnkey Sportsbook and high-quality service have been pivotal to our success, and we are excited to extend this collaboration as we continue to deliver a premium betting experience to our players in the Netherlands.”
